Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has visited “Investors’ Expo” in the capital, ahead of his participation in an international conference designed to bolster foreign investment and job creation as Bangladesh prepares for its next phase of economic growth.

Tarique toured the exhibition at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC), where the day-long event, titled “FICC FDI Conference 2026: Driving Foreign Investment for Jobs and Prosperity in Bangladesh,” commenced Thursday morning.

The conference and expo are organised by Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Organisers noted that the event comes at a pivotal time as Bangladesh readies itself for graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status.

With the government intensifying efforts to attract further Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), they emphasised that effective dialogue and cooperation between investors and policymakers have become more vital than ever before.

Tarique was accompanied by FICCI President and Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Rupali Haque Chowdhury; Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chairman Ashik Chowdhury; and various foreign investors.
