BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will attend at a public condolence meeting organised for his mother and former prime minister Khaleda Zia on Friday.
The meeting will start at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban following Friday prayers.
At a press conference held on Thursday at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh Convention Hall, organisers confirmed that Tarique Rahman, along with all family members, will attend the meeting at 2:30pm.
Educationist and economist Mahbub Ullah presided over the press conference.
Organisers stated that all members of the former BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s family have been invited to the public condolence meeting and have agreed to attend.
Former chief justice Syed JR Mudassir Husain is expected to be present as the chief guest. Prominent citizens, members of the media, and representatives from diverse societal and professional spheres will attend the event.
Among those present at the press conference were Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Mamun Ahmed, Daily Ittefaq Executive Editor Saleh Uddin, Bangladesh Federal Journalists’ Union (BFUJ) General Secretary Kader Gani Chowdhury, Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Director General Faruq Wasif, and Debate for Democracy Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron.
