Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne looked to be finding his form again on the third day of the Darwin Test. Just as he began to look increasingly threatening, Taijul Islam removed him with a well-flighted delivery. The dismissal left the home side three wickets down for 73 while trailing by 155 runs.
Labuschagne had returned after the tea break intending to build a long innings. He was on strike for the last ball of the 20th over, having settled in with 31 runs off 58 balls.
Taijul bowled a quicker arm ball- flighted, full in length, and drifting in through the air. Labuschagne, looking to work it into the on side, misjudged the flight, and the ball slipped through the gap between bat and pad to hit the stumps. He was bowled on the 59th ball he faced.
The dismissal ended a 36-run stand off 58 balls with Steve Smith, a partnership that had begun to settle. Taijul’s breakthrough came at a key moment for Bangladesh.
