A brief appearance by Sydney Sweeney in the upcoming sequel to ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ has been dropped from the final version of the film, despite the scene having already been shot.

Industry reports indicate that Sweeney had filmed a cameo as herself, sharing screen space with Emily Blunt, who reprises her role as Emily Charlton.

In the sequence, Charlton is portrayed in a senior position within the fashion industry, styling the actress for a high-profile event. However, the moment was ultimately removed during post-production.

Another sequence featuring Conrad Ricamora was also excluded. He had been cast as a roommate to the character Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway. Test audiences reportedly questioned the narrative choice, given the character’s progression from a junior assistant in the original film to a senior professional in the sequel, which is set years later.

Instead, the revised edit places greater emphasis on Andy’s interactions with familiar characters, including the role played by Tracie Thoms.

The film still features a number of high-profile appearances. Lady Gaga contributes both an on-screen cameo and a track to the soundtrack, while Donatella Versace and Naomi Campbell also make appearances linked to the fashion world setting.

Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the sequel reunites key members of the original creative team. Meryl Streep returns as Miranda Priestly, alongside Hathaway, with additional cast including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu and BJ Novak.

Produced by 20th Century Studios, the film is scheduled for global premier on May 1.
