Five more people have died with measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest figures, released on Wednesday, highlight a continuing rise in infections and deaths linked to the outbreak.

DGHS data shows that since 15 March, a total of 38 deaths have been confirmed from measles, while 190 deaths have been recorded as suspected measles symptoms cases.

During the same period, 3,934 people have been confirmed infected with measles, while the number of suspected cases has reached 27,164.

Health authorities also reported that 17,998 people have so far been hospitalised with suspected measles, of whom 14,892 have been discharged after treatment.

Officials say the situation remains under close monitoring as efforts continue to contain the spread of the disease.
