Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a warning for Rangpur, Dinajpur and Mymensingh, where storms with wind speeds reaching up to 60 km/h are expected.
Inland River ports in these areas have been directed to hoist cautionary signal number 1, valid until 6pm on Tuesday.
According to BMD, an extension of low pressure is positioned over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while a seasonal low remains over the South Bay of Bengal.
One or two places in Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may experience rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning.
Across the rest of the country, conditions are expected to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. Both day and night temperatures are forecast to increase slightly nationwide.
