Bangladesh’s stock market resumed its rally on Sunday as investors stepped up buying across a broad range of sectors on optimism that recent regulatory initiatives will strengthen market fundamentals and support a sustained recovery.

The benchmark DSEX index rose 43.6 points, or 0.76 per cent, to 5,787, reversing the previous session’s pause. Turnover increased 6.3 per cent to Tk153 crore, signalling continued participation from both retail and institutional investors.

After a cautious start, buying gathered pace throughout the session, lifting most sectors. Investors rotated out of general insurance stocks, which had led recent gains, into other momentum-driven counters as expectations of further policy support for the capital market remained intact.
