The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations for 2027 will begin on 7 January and conclude on 6 February, while the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams will start on 6 June and end on 13 July.
Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced the schedule during a press conference held at the Ministry of Education’s conference room in the Secretariat on Thursday afternoon.
The minister stated that the examination dates have been set to eliminate session jams and ensure the effective use of students’ time.
He further noted that while there was an initial plan to complete the examinations within December, the new schedule was finalised following discussions with relevant stakeholders.
According to the minister, this decision aims to provide students with adequate preparation time and maintain a normal academic calendar.
He also highlighted that the new schedule is designed to prevent students from losing two years of their academic lives, allowing them to align with the required semesters for higher education abroad.
Regarding the conduct of the examinations, the minister mentioned strict surveillance measures to prevent question paper leaks and ensure a fair examination environment. Additionally, the education boards have been directed to make necessary preparations to publish the results within the stipulated timeframe.
The final decision on the SSC and HSC schedules was reached during a meeting at the Ministry of Education on Wednesday, based on opinions from various stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by teacher representatives, heads of institutions, and chairmen of the education boards.
