Election Commission (EC) has directed that special eco-friendly banners be displayed at every polling centre to raise voter awareness ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum.

The directive was issued through a notice signed by Md Ruhul Amin Mallik, director of the EC’s public relations division.

The referendum, held under the ‘July National Charter (Constitution Reform) Implementation Order, 2025’, will allow voters to approve or reject certain constitutional proposals. Each polling station will prominently display a banner featuring the referendum question.

The EC has set specific environmental standards for the banners.

They will be made of 80 per cent natural cotton and 20 per cent viscose blend fabric, produced using reactive digital printing, and measure 3 feet by 5 feet. PVC pipes and hooks will be attached for hanging, and the maximum cost per banner, including VAT and taxes, is set at Tk 686.

Senior district and election officials across the country have been instructed to arrange the banners at their respective polling stations without delay.
