Dan Levy has opened up about the comfort he has found following the death of his ‘Schitt’s Creek’ co-star Catherine O’Hara. The actor appeared on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’ on Tuesday to promote his new Netflix series ‘Big Mistakes’, marking his first major promo tour since O’Hara’s passing in January at the age of 71.
Levy described her loss as “a collective loss” and said seeing the outpouring of love for O’Hara has brought him great comfort. “She was the greatest. She’s irreplaceable. Everyone felt like they kind of knew her,” he said.
Fallon praised O’Hara as “one of the funniest comedians I’ve ever seen,” highlighting her skill in character work and improvisation.
O’Hara, who appeared alongside Levy and his father Eugene Levy for six seasons on Schitt’s Creek, was considered an “extended family” by the cast.
In a heartfelt social media tribute, Dan Levy wrote that he will “cherish every funny memory” with her, sending his condolences to her family.
Eugene Levy also shared his grief, reflecting on a fifty-year friendship and professional partnership with the actress, describing her as “unbelievably talented” and expressing sorrow for the loss felt by her family.
