Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji are widely regarded as one of Bollywood’s most iconic romantic pairs, having charmed audiences in films like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Chalte Chalte’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’, ‘Veer-Zaara’ and ‘Hey Ram’. Fans now get to relive that magic once again.
The stars reunited in a romantic Instagram reel titled ‘Pehli Tu Akheri’, shared by Shah Rukh himself. The song is part of his son Aryan Khan’s debut web show, ‘Bastards of Bollywood’. In the video, the duo recreated some of the classic dance sequences from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Shah Rukh, sporting a light blue sweater, baggy jeans, a white cap and a plaster on his right hand, appears injured but charming as ever. Rani stuns in a white shirt and blue jeans. The reel ends with Shah Rukh kissing Rani’s forehead, a gesture that instantly won fans’ hearts, reaffirming that their on-screen chemistry remains timeless.
Shah Rukh captioned the video: “National Award… Our long-standing unfulfilled wish has come true. Yay! Congratulations Rani, you are truly a Rani. Love is forever for you.” Beyond expressing his joy, the post also promotes Aryan Khan’s new web series.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh and Rani are set to return to the big screen together in the upcoming film ‘King’, which also features Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Verma and Jackie Shroff.
Shah Rukh plays a gangster in this high-budget action thriller, with world-renowned action choreographers working on the film’s sequences.
Shooting will continue over the next six months at various locations in India and abroad. King is slated for release on October 1 next year.
