Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has opened up about his time in jail, recalling the difficult living conditions he experienced while supporting his brother Sohail Khan on the reality show Alliance, writes Hindustan Times.
Salman appeared on the show after Sohail endured a difficult week in the competition, offering words of encouragement while also sharing memories of his previous jail terms.
In a promo released by the makers, Salman described the overcrowded conditions inside the jail.
“Many years ago when I went to jail, we had bars in front of us. In such a small area, there were 50 to 70 people. There was just one bathroom with an Indian-style commode. There were lizards, and the toilet would be filled almost to the top,” he said.
Salman has spent time in jail or judicial custody on four occasions in connection with the 1998 blackbuck and chinkara poaching cases, serving a total of about 18 days.
The actor had previously spoken about his time behind bars during a 2008 appearance on On the Couch with Koel.
“I was blank. I was chilling. The only tension was the bathroom. That was it,” Salman had said at the time.
He added that he accepted the legal process calmly.
“If someone wants to put you in, you go in quietly. When you know you haven’t done it, you go in with your head held high,” he said.
Earlier on Alliance, Sohail Khan shared an emotional personal experience, revealing that he had been sexually harassed as a child.
He said he kept the incident to himself for years before finally confiding in his father as an adult.
“I was sexually harassed by somebody when I was young and I kept that within me for years,” Sohail said.
Recalling the conversation with his father, he added, “I told him, ‘Daddy, this happened to me.’ He asked why I had kept it inside for so many years. I felt ashamed even though I wasn’t at fault.”
Sohail said the experience has shaped how he communicates with his own children, encouraging them to tell him everything without fear or embarrassment.
Alliance is a reality competition series hosted by Kunal Kemmu that premiered on Prime Video in 2026.
The show features celebrities from the worlds of film, television, digital entertainment and sports competing in physical and strategic challenges while forming shifting alliances to remain in the game.
