Mohammad Salahuddin and Mohammad Ashraful will stay with the Bangladesh team for the T20 World Cup. A source from the cricket operations committee confirmed to the Daily Times of Bangladesh that both coaches will travel with the squad. All other members of the coaching staff will also continue. There will be no changes before the tournament.
Bangladesh players are now on a short break after the T20I series win against Ireland. There are no matches before the next BPL season begins. The team also have no international games to play before the T20 World Cup in February next year.
Rumours had grown in recent weeks about the future of Salahuddin and Ashraful. Salahuddin had submitted his resignation last month, but the board did not accept it. Ashraful worked as the batting coach in the Ireland series, which raised questions about whether he would continue.
Those doubts are now gone. The source confirmed that both coaches will remain with the team.
Salahuddin also plans to stay until his contract ends in 2027. He joined as the senior assistant coach in November 2024. This is his second spell with the national team. He earlier worked as assistant coach and fielding coach from 2006 to 2010. He later served as a specialist coach at the BCB National Cricket Academy in 2010–11.
