Media personality Robin Khan has been appointed the chairman of the Board of Trustees of Tagore University of Creative Arts (TUCA) for a five-year term. The decision was taken unanimously at a meeting of the university’s board.
Khan previously served as vice-chairman of the board, said a press release on Wednesday.
Khan is the chairman of Desha Holding and vice-chairman of Anan Pack (BD) Limited. He is also a director of Impress Capital Limited, Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital, its dental college, and Rangpur Group.
In media, he serves as programme director of Channel i and has been associated with television programming and content production for many years. He is also a playwright, film director and producer.
His notable television productions include Nil Nakful, Chaya Manobi, Shiulir Biye, Onno Mon, Moti Masterer Meye, Deuya Polau Dot Com and Ajana Atang.
Khan served as vice-president of the Bangladesh Private Medical College Association for three consecutive terms. He is a member of the Bangladesh Directors’ Association, Bangladesh Producers’ Association, Television Programme Producers’ Association of Bangladesh, and Directors Guild. He is also a lifetime member of Banani Friends Community Club and Bangladesh Film Club, said the press release.
Following his appointment, Khan said he was committed to strengthening the university as a distinguished institution through academic excellence, research, and a culture of creativity and innovation.
