Rajshahi Stars Football Club produced a spectacular performance in the Women’s Football League, defeating Siraj Smriti 13–0, with Rituparna scoring a hat-trick. In another match, Farashganj Sporting secured a 2–0 victory over BKSP, reinforcing their position among the league’s top sides.

Rajshahi tops the table with a perfect 24 points from eight matches. With 11 teams competing, two rounds of matches remain and are scheduled to be played in the coming days. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh team will travel to Kathmandu tomorrow to take part in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Tournament.

Many leading teams in the Women’s League feature U-20 national players. Consequently, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has decided to pause the women’s league until 7 February, when the SAFF tournament concludes. The final two rounds are planned for 10 and 13 February, after the age-group national team returns. Officials are also considering whether matches can take place on 12 February, the day before and after the national elections, given that the Premier Football League schedule was delayed by about a week.

Rituparna and her teammates dominated in Tuesday’s goal-fest. Alpi Akter scored five goals, Rituparna contributed a hat-trick, Nepal’s Deepa Sahi, Shaheda Akter Ripa (two goals), and Munki Akter each found the net. Rajshahi’s only remaining challenge for the title is the Army team. If the Army defeat Rajshahi in the final match, both teams could finish level on points, assuming they both win their ninth games.

Farashganj has also developed a strong squad. Their defeat to Rajshahi leaves them three points behind, keeping a close eye on the upcoming Rajshahi vs Army clash. Despite the competition, Rajshahi currently holds a quality edge over the Army side. Farashganj secured a hard-fought victory against BKSP, with goals from Monika Chakma and Shamsunnahar Junior ensuring the win.
