The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) received formal charges against 4 individuals on Wednesday in connection with the Rampura massacre, which claimed 28 lives during the July- August mass uprising in Dhaka.
Prosecutor Faruk Ahmed, accompanied by fellow prosecutors, submitted the formal charge to the ICT Registrar’s office in the morning. Among the accused is Lieutenant Colonel Redwanul Islam of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), along with 3 others.
Following the submission, the first tribunal is set to hold a hearing on the charge later in the day to decide the next course of action in the proceedings.
