Taking the recent situation into consideration, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has further strengthened security measures in Cumilla.
To maintain law and order and ensure public safety, RAB-11, CPC-2 Cumilla has launched special patrols, intelligence surveillance and checkpoint operations.
The information was disclosed in a press release signed by Major Sadman Ibne Alam, commander of RAB-11, CPC-2 Cumilla, on Wednesday night.
According to the release, patrols and intelligence monitoring have been intensified on the Dhaka–Chattogram highway, in Cumilla city and surrounding areas to curb crime and protect national interests. Special emphasis has been placed on conducting patrols late into the night and setting up checkpoints at key points in the city to search suspicious private cars, CNG-run auto-rickshaws, motorcycles and other vehicles.
In addition, to increase public awareness and prevent sabotage in crowded areas and important government and private establishments, regular patrols have been expanded along with enhanced surveillance by plainclothes intelligence personnel.
RAB stated that these operations will continue to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order.
