A 38-year-old man who sustained bullet injuries in a clash between two rival groups over establishing supremacy in Kalia upazila of Narail on Wednesday died at Khulna Medical College and Hospital on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Hasan Sheikh, son of Tara Mia Sheikh of Charkandipara village in Kalia.
Eleven people, including five with bullet wounds, were injured in the clash between supporters of two groups led by Sohel Member and Abed Sheikh in Kalabaria area on Wednesday, reports UNB.
The injured were initially taken to Kalia Upazila Health Complex. Later, the five victims with bullet injuries were shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where Hasan succumbed to his injuries around 4am, said Md Hossain Ali, officer-in-charge of Naragati Police Station.
Additional police have been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident, the OC added.
