The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) has arrested a 25-year-old suspected drug dealer after recovering a gun, 105 live bullets and heroin from his house in Dhaka’s Keraniganj.
The arrest took place on Sunday in Kulchar area under Keraniganj Police Station. The suspect has been identified as Md Masud.
Acting on a tip-off about unlicensed weapons and illegal drugs, a special RAB-2 team raided the property.
Officers apprehended Masud from his bedroom. During the search, they seized a locally made one-shooter gun, 105 rounds of live ammunition and 58 grammes of heroin.
According to RAB, Masud’s past criminal record revealed that he is already accused in two drug cases filed with Mohammadpur and Jatrabari police stations under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Legal proceedings against the suspect are currently underway, and RAB is conducting further raids to arrest his associates based on information obtained from him.
