President Md Sahabuddin is set to visit his home district of Pabna on Saturday for a four-day official tour, marking his first trip there since the BNP-led government assumed office.
According to a press release signed by the President’s Protocol Officer, Abul Kalam Lutfur Rahman, Sahabuddin will depart Bangabhaban in Dhaka at 1pm by helicopter and is expected to land at the helipad of Pabna Cadet College at 1:40pm.
Upon arrival, he will proceed to the Pabna Circuit House to receive a guard of honour at 2pm, where he will also stay overnight.
On Sunday, at 11:10am, the president will visit the Arifpur graveyard in Pabna Sadar to pay respects at his parents’ graves.
Later that evening, he will meet with journalists at the Pabna Press Club at 7pm before returning to the Circuit House for the night.
On Monday, at 11am, Sahabuddin will visit Bhavanipur Mosque in Sadar Upazila. In the evening, he will go to his residence in Pabna town at 7pm and then return to the Circuit House at 9pm for overnight stay.
The tour will conclude on Tuesday, when the president receives a guard of honour at the Circuit House at 11:40am. He will then depart for Dhaka at noon by helicopter from the Pabna Cadet College helipad, returning to Bangabhaban.
The Pabna district administration, along with law enforcement agencies, has made extensive preparations and implemented strict security measures to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the visit.
