BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has asked the nation to pray for party chairperson Khaleda Zia and hoped she would be able to return to the country in good health.
The BNP leader said this at a press conference held at the Chairperson’s Office in Gulshan on Thursday afternoon.
He said, “We are praying to the Most Merciful Allah that He may take her there safely and in good health, and that we may be able to get her back among us in good health.”
Praising the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for his magnanimity, Fakhrul added that they were able to obtain an advanced air ambulance.
“The air ambulance is expected to arrive here by tonight, and it will leave for the United Kingdom by with our national leader Khaleda Zia,” he added. “We have completed all necessary tasks for her departure”.
The BNP chairperson will be accompanied by 14 others on the journey, including her medical team.
Regarding the air ambulance, Mirza Fakhrul said that it was state-of-the-art and had every facility necessary, including an operation theatre.
BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan was also present at the press conference.
