The Power Division has issued directives to senior officials across all its subordinate departments and agencies to ensure continuous electricity supply nationwide during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
Officials have been instructed to monitor power conditions at their workplaces and local areas during the holiday. They must conduct physical inspections, provide guidance to local staff, and submit formal inspection reports to the Secretary of the Power Division, according to press release.
To prevent public dissatisfaction from scheduled maintenance or unexpected outages, local power centres are required to inform consumers through social media, public announcements (miking), and communication via mosque Imams and Muezzins.
Names and mobile numbers of local mosques and their Imams or Muezzins must be shared with the Power Division and uploaded on the official websites of the relevant distribution companies.
In view of the festivities, shops and shopping malls may remain open until 10pm. After Eid, all commercial establishments must resume the standard closing time of 7pm to conserve energy.
The Power Division expressed confidence that these coordinated measures will maintain a stable and reliable power supply across the country during the Eid period.
