Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was taken to a hospital in Tel Aviv on Monday evening for dental treatment, his office confirmed, dismissing earlier media reports that he was “ill”.
Netanyahu was admitted to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center, according to the Times of Israel, which cited the Prime Minister’s Office.
The clarification came after several Israeli media outlets published news suggesting the prime minister had fallen ill. His office later explained that the hospital visit was for routine dental care.
Meanwhile, following fresh US attacks on Iran, Netanyahu pledged on Monday to intensify strikes against the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah in Lebanon.
“The attacks will continue until Hezbollah is disarmed,” he said.
Shortly after his statement, the Israeli military announced that strikes were being carried out on Hezbollah infrastructure in the eastern Beqaa Valley and other areas of Lebanon.
