“Bigg Boss 20” is set to return with Salman Khan as its host, promising a new season filled with drama, surprises and unexpected twists under the theme “Vardaan”, states The Hindustan Times.

The grand premiere will take place on 6 September. Viewers can watch the show on JioHotstar from 9pm, while the delayed television broadcast will air on Colors TV at 10:30pm.

Like the previous season, the reality show will follow an OTT-first release format.

The makers have released several promotional videos hinting at the upcoming contestants. Among the names linked to the season are Isha Rikhi, who is reportedly Badshah’s estranged wife, and Rhiti Tiwari, daughter of actor-politician Manoj Tiwari.

Other names being discussed include Faisal Khan, brother of Aamir Khan; Karan Wahi’s former partner Uditi Singh; Kushal Tanwar; Qazi Touqeer; Yung DSA; Showik Chakraborty, brother of Rhea Chakraborty; and Khushi Dubey.

Boxing champion Mary Kom has also been mentioned among the possible participants. However, the complete contestant lineup is yet to be officially confirmed.

The season 20 house has been designed around the concept of duality, combining familiar objects with unusual details.

Inspired by the whimsical world of “Alice in Wonderland”, the colourful set aims to create a lively and unpredictable atmosphere.

Room No. 20 is another mystery element in the house. Its design and purpose have been kept secret, with the makers planning to reveal more about the room as the season progresses.

In the season’s trailer, Salman Khan introduces the central twist by promising contestants an “extra jeevan daan”, or an additional lease on life.

Explaining the theme, Salman said the new season would change not only the game but also the way it is played. He added that the meaning of “Jeevan Daan” may not be as simple as it appears and that viewers would understand the twist once the contestants enter the house.

Alok Jain, Head of Hindi and English Entertainment Business at JioStar, said the show’s 20th season marks an important milestone for the franchise.

He said the makers wanted to reinvent the format, increase the stakes and deliver a fresh and unpredictable experience for both contestants and viewers.
