Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has handed over job appointment letters to ten members of the families of those martyred and seriously injured in July mass uprising.
PM’s Deputy Press Secretary, Hasan Shiplu, said the premier presented the recruitment letters on Saturday noon at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Tejgaon.
Shiplu said the prime minister spoke individually with the family members and enquired about their well-being.
Highlighting the historic sacrifices of citizens from 1971 Liberation War to July 2024 mass uprising, Tarique said the ultimate objective of these struggles was to build a developed Bangladesh where citizens could enjoy a better standard of living.
“Those whom we lost, those who were physically injured, or those who were damaged in other ways, behind all their sacrifices was an aspiration, which was to make Bangladesh better,” he added.
Acknowledging the various constraints faced by the state and the government, Tarique observed that even within limitations, the country must move forward realistically.
He said what they received is not the most significant thing, but rather what they could give to the country is what is important. He added that keeping this goal in front, if they can move forward gradually, it will be possible to build the expected Bangladesh they want in the coming days.
He assured that ongoing efforts to ensure the proper evaluation and recognition of the sacrifices made by the July martyrs and injured would continue.
The recipients of the job appointment letters are Sabina Akter Rima, wife of Martyr Md Sohag; Rajia Khatun, wife of Martyr Md Shahriar; Afsana Akter, wife of Martyr Md Abdullah Kabir; Aklima Akter, wife of Martyr Md Mostafa Kamal Raju; Sumaiya Akter Suborna, wife of Martyr Md Jewel; Samia Islam Poppy, sister of Martyr Miraj; Hafiza Akter Happy, wife of Martyr Ahsan Kabir; Farjana Akter Rani, wife of Martyr Omar Nurul Abchar; Shabana Akter, wife of seriously injured Md Abdul Matin; and Arju Akter, wife of seriously injured Md Zulfikar Alam.
Fatema Tuz Zohra, mother of Martyr Abdullah Been Zahid (who recently joined a job), and injured July warrior Soheli Tamanna were also present at the ceremony and met the prime minister.
Shiplu said the family members and injured warriors expressed their profound gratitude to the Premier upon receiving their letters.
The event was also attended by PM’s Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon, and “Amra BNP Paribar” Member Secretary Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun.
