Md Suratuzzaman has recently assumed the role of executive chairman of National Pension Authority, the body responsible for implementing the Universal Pension Scheme.
His appointment was made on a contractual basis for a period of two years through a notification issued by Finance Division.
Throughout his career, Suratuzzaman has held several key government positions, including serving as the assistant private secretary to former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
In addition to his administrative duties, he is actively involved in social welfare initiatives and creative writing.
In a related development, Sheikh Kamrul Hasan has joined the National Pension Authority as a member. He has been appointed on a one-year contract via a notification from the Finance Division.
Kamrul brings extensive experience from various departments of financial administration, having served as the chief accounts officer for three ministries, finance controller (Army), and divisional controller of accounts.
His career also includes senior roles within the Board of Investment, the Ministry of Shipping, and the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. Furthermore, he served as the 1st secretary (Commercial) at Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata.
Kamrul has also made significant contributions to worker development during his tenure as the controller at the Tea Garden Workers’ Provident Fund office in Sreemangal.
