The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley has married model Natalie Kuckenburg in an intimate civil ceremony, with the couple’s pet dog, Greg, serving as their “Best Boy”.
According to People, Kuckenburg announced the marriage on Instagram on Monday, 13 July, sharing photographs from the outdoor ceremony. Captioning the post, she wrote: “Mr and Mrs and the Best Boy Greg.” The images showed the newlyweds kissing, holding hands and exchanging vows beneath palm trees, with Greg by their side throughout the ceremony.
Kuckenburg wore the ivory “Lilou” dress from Galia Lahav’s ready-to-wear collection, while Wesley chose a navy blue suit with a black tie. In a statement, the designer described the ceremony as exactly the kind of elegant and intimate wedding the dress was created for.
The couple announced their engagement on Instagram on 19 July 2025. Kuckenburg shared a black-and-white photograph highlighting her oval-cut engagement ring, captioning it, “Yes. Always and forever.” Wesley also celebrated the occasion by posting a photograph of the newly engaged couple on his Instagram Stories.
The engagement came two days after the pair were spotted on a yacht during a holiday on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, where they were first linked publicly. Wesley later revealed on Live with Kelly and Mark that he proposed at the same Italian hotel where they had their first official date.
Recalling the proposal, Wesley said it was a surprise, although Kuckenburg later admitted she had suspected it might happen. He said she still broke down in tears after he proposed.
Kuckenburg previously explained that the Caruso, a Belmond Hotel on the Amalfi Coast, holds special meaning for them because they visited it together on their first trip as a couple three years earlier and immediately fell in love with the location.
Although the exact start of their relationship remains unclear, Wesley and Kuckenburg were first photographed together in November 2022 during a romantic dinner in Nerano. Shortly afterwards, both shared photographs from the same location on social media.
Despite Italy playing a significant role in their relationship, Wesley revealed that they first met in a New York City bar. Speaking on Live with Kelly and Mark, he described it as a classic meeting. He said he approached Kuckenburg after catching her eye, adding that having a mutual friend made the introduction much easier.
In an earlier interview with People in March 2024, Wesley offered a rare insight into their relationship, saying laughter had always been central to their bond. He joked that the two funniest figures in his life were his dog and his girlfriend, adding that sharing laughter was one of the most important foundations of a relationship.
