Two more parliamentary standing committees related to ministries for the 13th National Parliament were formed on Sunday.
Barrister Andaleeve Rahman Partho has been appointed as the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, while Mushfiqur Rahman will head the standing committee on the Ministry of Finance.
The committees were formed during a session of Parliament on Sunday. Presided over by Deputy Speaker Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Chief Whip Md Nurul Islam Moni moved the proposals on behalf of Leader of the House and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, which were then passed by voice vote.
The members of the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs standing committee include Minister Md Asaduzzaman, M Mahbub Uddin (Noakhali-1), Md Naoshad Jamir (Panchagarh-1), Shakila Farzana (Reserved Seat-8), Md Monjurul Islam (Dinajpur-1), Md Hasan Rajib Prodhan (Lalmonirhat-1), Md Najibur Rahman (Pabna-1), Akhter Hossain (Rangpur-4), and Al Faruk Abdul Latif (Nilphamari-2).
The standing committee for the Ministry of Finance consists of Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Nurul Islam (Barguna-2), Mir Shah Alam (Bogra-2), Mohammad Jalal Uddin (Chandpur-2), Moinul Islam Khan (Manikganj-2), Mohammad Shahadat Hossain (Lakshmipur-1), Mohammad Saiful Alam (Dhaka-12), Syed Zainul Abedin (Dhaka-4), and Mohammad Abul Hasnat (Cumilla-4).
