Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein, President and CEO of the International Peace Institute (IPI), discussed international peace and security, multilateral cooperation and ways to address contemporary global challenges on Friday.
The Prime Minister held a lunch meeting with the IPI president at the Hyatt Grand Central this afternoon (New York time), Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary KM Nazmul Haque said.
The meeting took place as part of the Prime Minister’s engagements on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
During the meeting, they discussed the importance of strengthening peace, dialogue and cooperation between Bangladesh and the international community.
They also exchanged views on making the UN-centred multilateral system more effective and inclusive.
