Travellers crossing the Padma Bridge can now pay tolls instantly using Nagad, marking another step in streamlining Bangladesh’s transport infrastructure.
The new facility allows Nagad customers to settle Padma Bridge tolls directly through their Nagad wallet.
This service has been introduced in collaboration with the interoperable toll payment system, D-Toll, under the ‘EkPay’ platform of the Access to Information (a2i) Programme.
To use the service, customers must first register through the ‘Toll’ option in the Nagad app. After providing basic details and agreeing to terms, they link their Nagad wallet by entering an OTP and password.
A top-up can then be made to fund the wallet. Vehicles are linked to the wallet by submitting required vehicle details and confirming via OTP.
New users must verify their BRTA-approved RFID tag at Mawa Toll Plaza. After verification, they can use the ETC lane on the bridge and pay tolls quickly while following the speed limit.
According to Nagad, the new system will reduce minor traffic congestion at toll points and make travel across the bridge more convenient. More information is available on Nagad’s official website and verified Facebook page.
