Rainfall is likely to increase across Bangladesh over the next five days from Tuesday morning as monsoon activity remains less active over the country, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
In a bulletin issued on Tuesday, the Met office said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely at a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Moderately heavy rainfall may occur at some places across the country, it added.
Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged nationwide.
The BMD said the monsoon trough extends from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal through northern Bangladesh to Assam, with an associated trough extending up to the North Bay.
Monsoon activity is currently less active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay, the bulletin said.
