Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 29 individuals under ‘Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2’ during special drives across the capital in the last 24 hours.
The operations were conducted separately by police from Gulshan, Cantonment, Demra, Mohammadpur, Pallabi, Khilgaon, Hazaribagh, Adabor, Bangshal, Jatrabari, Tejgaon Industrial Area, and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar stations.
The information was confirmed in a news release issued on Saturday.
According to the DMP, Md Roman Ali and Md Shukur Ali were arrested in the Gulshan area, while Md Anwar, Md Rifat, and Md Rakibul Hasan Rony were apprehended in Cantonment. In Demra, a man named Suman was arrested.
Mohammadpur police arrested Baby, Md Shamim Bepari, and Md Zahid. In Pallabi, the arrested individuals were identified as Md Shahid, Md Raju, and Md Deen Islam, while Khilgaon police arrested Md Tuhin and Mofazzal Hossain.
In Hazaribagh, Md Hridoy (alias Dhakaiya Hridoy), Md Al Amin, and Abir Hasan were taken into custody. Rina Begum was arrested in the Adabor area. Bangshal police arrested Md Sahil Ahmed Ifti, Md Raj Ahmed, and Md Ashfi Rahman Samir. In Jatrabari, those arrested include Yasin (alias Hasan), Md Al Amin, Md Sohan, Munna, and Asif.
Furthermore, Md Aryan Ahmed Jishan and Afia were arrested in the Tejgaon Industrial Area, and Md Bappi was apprehended by Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police.
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the DMP Media and Public Relations Division, stated that these arrests followed day-long drives in various crime-prone areas of the capital on Friday. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and they have been produced before the court.
