The much-discussed action thriller Operation Agneepath, starring Dhallywood King Shakib Khan, is finally heading to the big screen after years of complications, nearly a decade after its initial plans.

The film generated excitement following its first phase of shooting in Australia and the release of its teaser. However, production halted midway amid internal complications and tensions.

Now, the stalled project is set to return with a fresh approach. According to media reports, the producer, director and Shakib Khan have reached an in-principle agreement to revise the original story, add new elements and make some changes to the cast to meet contemporary audience expectations.

Shakib Khan remains at the centre of the project, with main shooting planned for next year. The film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release in 2027, outside the Eid periods.

Produced by Zain Alam under Vertex Media, Operation Agneepath will be directed by Ashikur Rahman. The new treatment and modern filmmaking techniques have sparked fresh discussion in Dhallywood.
