A man was sentenced to imprisonment on Sunday for committing fraud during the government primary school assistant teacher recruitment process.
The individual, identified as Abdur Razzaq, 32, was apprehended at the Rajbari Deputy Commissioner’s office around 12pm on 1 February.
Razzaq was caught while appearing for the oral examination after it was discovered he had engaged in malpractice during the written process.
Following his apprehension, a mobile court led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md Abubakar Siddique sentenced him to 20 days of simple imprisonment and imposed a fine of Tk100.
The conviction was handed down in accordance with Section 188 of the Penal Code 1860.
Abdur Razzaq is the son of Abdul Majed, a resident of Ashuhat village in the Patta Union of Pangsha Upazila, located within the Rajbari district.
