Actor Bob Odenkirk has expressed strong admiration for the new science fiction series ‘Pluribus’, though he remains uncertain about the possibility of appearing in its next season.
The show is created and run by Vince Gilligan, who previously collaborated with Odenkirk on the acclaimed drama ‘Breaking Bad’. Odenkirk famously portrayed lawyer Saul Goodman in that series before reprising the role in the prequel ‘Better Call Saul’, which Gilligan co created.
Speaking on the red carpet at the Saturn Awards, Odenkirk offered enthusiastic praise for Pluribus. He described the first season as outstanding and highlighted Gilligan’s distinctive storytelling approach, which encourages viewers to pay close attention to small details that later prove significant.
Odenkirk said he would be interested in appearing in the series, but suggested that his presence could distract from the carefully constructed world of the show. According to the actor, Gilligan’s projects rely on subtle storytelling and he worries that a familiar face such as his might disrupt that balance.
The series already features a connection to Better Call Saul through Rhea Seehorn, who plays the central character Carol Sturka. In the earlier legal drama, Seehorn portrayed Kim Wexler, one of the show’s most prominent roles.
A few other actors from Better Call Saul have also made small appearances in Pluribus. Patrick Fabian, known for playing Howard Hamlin, provides the voice of a recorded message heard in the series. Meanwhile Carol Burnett appears as a fictionalised version of herself in promotional material connected to the show’s storyline.
Despite these connections, Seehorn remains the only performer from the earlier series to hold a major on screen role in Pluribus. Her performance has been widely praised, earning her a Golden Globe Awards win.
