To make the visa application process more convenient for Bangladeshi citizens, the Embassy of the Netherlands and VFS Global have jointly inaugurated the Netherlands Visa Application Centre in Dhaka.
Ambassador of Netherlands to Bangladesh Joris van Bommel inaugurated the newly constructed centre at Banani in the capital on Monday. The centre will accept visa applications for short-term (Category C) and Caribbean visas for Bangladeshi nationals.
According to a press release, applicants can submit their visa applications at the new centre from now on by scheduling an appointment online.
Ambassador Bommel said the initiative reflects the strengthening of bilateral relations and people-to-people contact between the Netherlands and Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is an important partner for the Netherlands, with growing ties in business, education, and people-to-people connections. This new centre will provide travellers with a more modern, efficient, and comfortable experience.
A spokesperson for VFS Global said the new centre will ensure improved and seamless services for applicants, further enhancing bilateral engagement between the two countries.
The release also mentioned applicants can avail additional services such as courier delivery and SMS notifications, though these will not affect visa decisions or processing time.
VFS Global will handle the administrative and biometric processing of visa applications, while decisions regarding visa approval will be made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
The centre located on the 7th floor of the Borak Mehnuur Building (51/B, Level 7, Kemal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka-1213), will remain open from 9am to 5pm from Sunday to Thursday.
