The Bangladesh Coast Guard distributed relief materials among low-income families in Saint Martin’s Island in Cox’s Bazar.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon said on Thursday that the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been regularly providing humanitarian assistance to low- income people during various crises while ensuring public safety in coastal and riverine areas of the country, said a press release.
As part of the initiative, Coast Guard ship “Tajuddin”, under the management of the Coast Guard East Zone, distributed dry food and relief materials among 150 low-income families on Saint Martin’s Island from 10am to 1pm on Thursday.
He added that the Bangladesh Coast Guard would continue such humanitarian assistance programmes in the future by standing beside people living in coastal and remote areas of the country.
