Nagorik Oikkya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna has been hospitalised after experiencing chest pain late on Friday night.

He was admitted to Bangladesh Medical University Hospital in the capital around 11pm, according to Abdur Razzak Talukder Shojib, a member of the party’s central committee.

Razzak said Manna complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors conducted several medical tests.

He added that physicians have advised Manna to remain under observation for at least two days.

Nagorik Oikkya has appealed to people across the country to pray for the speedy recovery of its president.

Manna had previously been hospitalised after suffering a heart attack in September last year.
