Popular OTT platform Chorki is back with a new original flash fiction titled ‘Gerakol’, teasing a tale that delves into karma, consequence, and the shades of truth. The poster, released under the tagline “Kormer Fole Gerakole” (Caught in the trap of one’s own deeds), has already caught attention for its enigmatic tone and chemistry among the lead trio.
At the center of the poster stands actress Samira Khan Mahi, flanked by actors Intekhab Dinar and Abu Hurayra Tanvir. Mahi’s poised expression, Dinar’s intense gaze, and Tanvir’s observant stance create a frame rich with intrigue and emotion, a blend of sensuality and suspense.
The official trailer, released on October 14, offers glimpses into a story layered with themes of campus life, justice, love, and emotional deception. Opening with the line, “Truth is not as true as it seems,” the trailer sets the tone for a psychological mystery exploring how appearances can distort reality.
Directed by emerging filmmaker Rakayet Rabby, ‘Gerakol’ follows the lives of Rimi, Onik, and Moshtaq, three individuals caught in a web of relationships and revelations. During a vacation, Rimi and Onik encounter Moshtaq, a painter, and their connection gradually transforms everything between them. As relationships begin to fracture, viewers are left questioning how much of what we see is really true.
The flash fiction is scheduled to premiere on Chorki at 12:01 am on October 16.
Speaking about his approach, director Rakayet Rabby said the story was inspired by events around him. “It’s not an extraordinary story, but I’ve tried to present a familiar one from a new perspective,” he shared. “Life is full of experiences that we can’t always express, yet they shape us forever. Gerakol reflects one such moment from student life and beyond.”
The mystery thriller stars Samira Khan Mahi as Rimi, Abu Hurayra Tanvir as Onik, and Intekhab Dinar as Moshtaq. Sushoma Sarkar plays Moshtaq’s wife, alongside Humaira Snigdha, Shihab, and Sadi Shuvo in supporting roles. The screenplay was written by Rakayet Rabby from a story and dialogues by Nazim Ud Daula.
Discussing her role, Samira Khan Mahi described the project as both challenging and refreshing. “As an actor, I enjoy transforming myself for different roles,” she said. “My character in ‘Gerakol’ carries a sense of mystery. Most of the time, I’ll appear in a fashionable look, but at one point, viewers will see me in a completely different light; they might misread her at first, but by the end, they’ll understand why.”
With its evocative title, striking visuals, and a story that blurs the line between truth and illusion, ‘Gerakol’ promises to keep audiences hooked till the very last moment.
