Lily Collins has said goodbye to Emily Cooper as filming on the sixth and final season of ‘Emily in Paris’ officially comes to an end, reports BBC.
Collins marked the occasion on social media with a photograph of herself sitting in a director’s chair bearing the word “Fin”. Reflecting on her years as the show’s central character, she described the experience as difficult to put into words.
“It was impossible to find the words for what this journey has meant to me,” Collins wrote, saying Emily had remained part of her life for years while continuing to “surprise, inspire, and challenge” her.
The actor thanked creator Darren Star for bringing Emily to life as an optimistic American navigating a new life far from her comfort zone. She also expressed gratitude to the cast, crew and viewers who have followed the series.
“I will carry this chapter with me forever,” she wrote. “Saying goodbye feels completely surreal and bittersweet, but mostly, I feel so incredibly proud and grateful that I got to be her.”
The final season will take Emily beyond Paris as she travels to several European destinations, including Greece. The story will see her face major decisions involving both her career and personal relationships.
According to Netflix’s official synopsis, Emily will encounter unexpected professional conflicts and changes in her relationships, forcing her to reconsider where she wants her future to lie. She will ultimately have to choose between her career, her heart and the life she has built in Paris.
The sixth season of ‘Emily in Paris’ will premiere on Netflix on 24 December.
