Health officials on Tuesday said they recorded 841 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least five persons in the past 24 hours.
Of the 841 new patients, 125 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 106 in Chattogram division, 214 in Dhaka division (excluding the capital), 128 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 173 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
Additionally, 26 cases were reported in Khulna division, 19 in Mymensingh, 47 in Rangpur, and 3 in Sylhet division, according to a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Since the onset of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has recorded 238 deaths and 56,257 reported cases. In comparison, last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and affected 101,214 people in the country.
