Khairul Islam Shojib, son of Narayanganj-3 MP Alhaj Azharul Islam Mannan, was brought to the Narayanganj Detective Branch (DB) office on Sunday for preliminary questioning over allegations against him, police said.
Shojib, 36, was later taken to the Dhaka Metropolitan DB Police office by a team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police for further interrogation, according to a press release from the Narayanganj DSB Police Superintendent.
Necessary legal action will be taken after the questioning is completed, police said.
The development comes as the MP’s son faces allegations that have prompted police to initiate investigative proceedings. Further details regarding the nature of the allegations were not immediately available.
Authorities are continuing the interrogation process at the Dhaka Metropolitan DB Police office, and legal proceedings will follow as per law, officials said.
