Bollywood actor Mouni Roy and her husband Suraj Nambiar have confirmed that they are separating after four years of marriage, putting an end to ongoing speculation triggered by their recent social media activity. Rumours of a split intensified after the couple reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram, prompting widespread discussion about the status of their relationship.
In a joint statement shared on social media, Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar clarified that they have mutually decided to part ways and are currently navigating the transition privately and respectfully. The statement strongly criticised what they described as “sensationalised” and “fictitious” narratives circulating in parts of the media, stressing that such claims do not reflect the reality of their relationship. Both also emphasised that they are taking time to handle personal matters away from public attention and have requested privacy as they move forward separately.
The statement further underlined that the decision was taken after “thoughtful reflection on evolving personal priorities,” with both parties agreeing to continue with mutual respect and understanding. While acknowledging the public interest in their lives, they urged restraint and sensitivity, noting that attempts to distort or amplify unverified details had added unnecessary intrusion during a personal phase.
Roy and Nambiar first met in 2018 during a New Year celebration in Dubai, where their initial interaction gradually developed into friendship and later a romantic relationship. Their bond reportedly strengthened over time, especially during the COVID-19 period when they spent more time together. The couple eventually married on January 27, 2022, in Goa in a ceremony that blended Bengali and Malayali traditions, attended by close family and friends.
