A major technical fault at Moheshkhali LNG terminals has triggered an acute gas crisis across Titas Gas network, with supply to the national grid plummeting by approximately 550 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd).
The disruption has left residential, industrial, and commercial consumers, alongside power plants and CNG stations, grappling with severe low gas pressure.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited confirmed that the supply of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) has been significantly curtailed due to the technical issues at the terminals.
The utility provider warned that the shortage is likely to persist across its entire command area until the situation at the Moheshkhali terminals improves and RLNG supply is restored to normal levels.
Titas Gas authorities have expressed sincere regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to its consumers during this period of restricted supply.
