Midland Bank PLC has appointed Imtiaz U Ahmed as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer to lead the bank’s next phase of growth.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time for the bank as it seeks to expand its market footprint and accelerate its digital transformation initiatives, reads a press release.
Imtiaz brings with him extensive professional experience gained through a wide range of key leadership roles at both branch and corporate head office levels in the financial services sector.
His areas of expertise include Corporate and Institutional Banking, Export Financing, Internal Control and Compliance, Human Resources, Special Asset Management, and Treasury Management.
His leadership focus on performance management and a robust transformation agenda has consistently driven business growth, particularly in export financing operations, while significantly improving portfolio quality.
Imtiaz has over 25 years of experience in the banking industry, including significant tenures at Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC and Eastern Bank PLC.
Prior to joining the banking sector, he developed a strong professional foundation in the capital market at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) and in the professional audit environment at KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq.
A postgraduate in both Finance and Accounting, Imtiaz has participated in numerous professional training programmes, seminars, and symposiums at home and abroad.
With his blend of strategic vision and technical expertise, it is expected that he will play a key role in steering Midland Bank towards achieving its long-term objectives.
