After a hiatus from solo performances, popular band Meghdol is returning to stage through an intimate concert on Pohela Boishakh.

Titled ‘Jhoro Shomoyer Gaan’, the concert will offer a rare opportunity to experience the band in a more intimate setting.

The concert is scheduled for April 14 at the Yamaha Flagship Centre, with Yamaha Music Bangladesh hosting the event. Designed as a seated concert with limited entry, the evening will accommodate a small audience, creating a more focused listening environment.

Alongside a full set by the band, the programme will also feature guest appearances, adding variety to the performance. Frontman Shibu Kumar Shil has indicated that the setlist will move between different phases of Meghdol’s music, bringing together familiar favourites and lesser-heard material.

Since forming in 2003, with Mezbaur Rahman Sumon and Masud Hasan Ujjwal, the group has carved out a distinct space in the Bangla music scene. Their catalogue, spanning multiple albums, has earned a dedicated following drawn to their experimental sound and lyrical depth.

Meghdol’s lineup includes Shibu Kumar Shil, Mezbaur Rahman Sumon, Rashid Sharif Shoaib, Amzad Hossain, M G Kibria, Tanvir Daud Rony and Saurav Sarkar.
