Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, made a solo trip across the Atlantic to attend Paris Fashion Week on Saturday, where she showed her support for her friend, designer Pierpaolo Piccioli. She was present at the Balenciaga show, marking her return to the high-profile event after more than a decade.
The duchess has been a long-time admirer of Piccioli’s work and has previously worn several of his designs, since he took over as Balenciaga’s creative director. A spokesperson for Meghan emphasized that her attendance symbolized her backing for his creative journey at the iconic fashion house., reports BBC.
“Over the years, the duchess has been a fan of Pierpaolo’s craftsmanship and modern elegance,” the spokesperson shared. “Tonight’s appearance is a reflection of her admiration for his artistry and their lasting friendship.”
Meghan posted her arrival on Instagram, wearing a white ensemble of wide-leg trousers and a matching blazer from Balenciaga’s current collection.
Her visit to Paris comes after her last known trip to the UK in September 2022, where she attended a charity event and was present for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Meanwhile, Prince Harry continues to make frequent visits to the UK, including a meeting with King Charles last month, as speculation about a royal reconciliation grows.
This week, Prince Harry also participated in a High Court hearing in his ongoing case against the publisher of the Daily Mail.
