The International Crime Tribunal-2 is set to deliver order on Monday whether formal charges will be framed against Mahbubul Alam Hanif and three others in a case alleged crimes against humanity during July movement.
Hanif served as Awami League’s joint general secretary.
The prosecution on Sunday sought the court’s approval to formally take cognisance of allegations against the four, including incitement through inflammatory speeches, conspiracy, and the killing of six individuals in Kushtia.
Following the hearing, a three-member bench of the tribunal, headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, fixed Monday for the order.
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam and Prosecutor Mizanul Islam represented the state during the hearing.
The other three accused are Kushtia District Awami League President Sadar Uddin Khan, District Awami League Secretary Azgar Ali, and City Awami League General Secretary Ataur Rahman Khan Ata. All four are fugitives.
