Traffic movement through the Karnaphuli Tunnel, under Bangladesh Bridge Authority, will be regulated via diversions from Tuesday to 31 July 2026, to facilitate routine maintenance works.
According to a press release, the diversions will be in effect from 11pm to 5am.
During these hours, traffic in either the “Patenga to Anwara” or “Anwara to Patenga” tubes will be managed through controlled diversions to ensure maintenance continues while allowing vehicles to pass.
Depending on the existing volume of traffic, commuters may be required to wait for five to a maximum of 10 minutes at both ends of the tunnel.
Bangladesh Bridge Authority has sought the sincere cooperation of passengers to ensure the safe and effective completion of these routine maintenance activities.
