A new political platform, ‘Alternatives’, has been launched under the leadership of former adviser Mahfuz Alam and former NCP leader Tajnuva Jabeen, aiming to promote active youth participation in politics and revive the vision of the July student–people movement.
The platform began its activities by forming a National Organising Committee, which will oversee nationwide organisational work, outreach, and leadership development.
According to a press release issued on Friday, the committee will engage politically conscious youth across the country, connect with families of martyrs, injured activists, and active participants of past movements, and nurture new leadership for the future.

The statement emphasized the need for young people to play a more active role in the current political landscape and the importance of fostering fresh political ideas.
The committee also aims to establish a participatory political culture, creating networks that include students, workers, farmers, and other sectors of society through dialogue and outreach programs in different districts.
Members of the National Organising Committee include Ahmad Ibne Arif (Oni), Imon Syed, Imran Ahmed, Jahin Faruk Amin, Tanvir Chowdhury, Dr. Tajnuva Jabeen, Durjoy Das Gupta, Farhadul Alam Shobuj, Mahfuz Alam, Maida Tanha Bidushi, Mutasim Billah, Moniruzzaman, Md Raihanur Rahman (Rabi), Mohammad Erfanul Haque, Sazzad Hossain Shahidullah, Sheikh Farid, and Hasan Ali.
The organisation has indicated that the committee will expand further in the future based on organizational needs.
